A Celebration of Love in Every Shade
Guests enjoyed an immersive evening of flavor and culture featuring chef-led food stations inspired by the Shades of Love—Ivory, Gold, Cocoa, and Noir. Each station offered distinct, thoughtfully crafted dishes that reflect its unique tone and story, from light and delicate flavors to rich, bold, and indulgent bites. Rooted in love, creativity, and community, the experience invited guests to explore a spectrum of flavors that celebrate culture in every shade.
Throughout the night, pas hors d'oeuvres circulated, including intentionally curated vegan bites.
A full bar menu with light bites were available for purchase after 8:00 p.m., curated by the Boatman Spirits Company team.
VIP TICKETS
VIP guests were able to arrive early and granted exclusive access to VIP Chocolate & Spirits Tasting. They enjoyed 4 curated chocolate pairings from East Durham Sweet Shoppe thoughtfully paired with bourbon selections from Old Hillside Bourbon and wine from Boatman Spirits Co. Guests also received VIP Swag Bags with products from BLK vendors, 1 drink ticket that could be used on a dessert martini, dessert martini flight or custom cocktail/mocktail. Of course, the attended the main event which included live performances and a curated showcase of local Black-owned culinary delights/chef stations.

The evening was thoughtfully enhanced in collaboration with Old Hillside Bourbon Company and East Durham Sweet Shoppe—two brands whose dedication to craft, culture, and care bring depth and sweetness to the Sweet N’ Soulful experience.

From ivory to cocoa to noir, the evening invited you to taste love in all its depth. Chef-curated bites and indulgent desserts flowed throughout the space, each dish inspired by the richness of melanin and the stories carried through flavor. Light and delicate offerings gave way to bold, decadent notes—mirroring love’s many layers. Thoughtfully prepared vegan and vegetarian selections ensured everyone could savor the moment.
Set to the Sound of Love
Sweet N’ Soulful moved to a rhythm that was smooth, soulful, and intimate. Live music filled the room as a saxophonist weaved melody through the night, setting a tone that was warm and magnetic. Between songs and shared moments, guests were invited to connect, linger, and let the music guide the evening—where love hummed softly, and every note felt personal.
